It's rare. Not diamonds, a decent radio station for all the kids who like indie/alternative. I turned on the radio this morning and what sexually assaulted my innocent ear drums? What terrible cretin violently attacked my hearing with no remorse? Oh, that's right, terrible terrible music. Yeah, seriously, does this city not have a decent public radio station? Let's see, there is 91.7 The Bounce, which is practically a juiced up Guido network that fuels all the fist-pumping party boys in there Honda Civic's. The thing about the Bounce is, there not one of those stations that plays a good song every now and then, like one time you might get lucky and hit the random song lottery. Nope, it's just pure breed poop music. What else do we got? Oh that's right, the Bounce's bitchy little sister, 107.1 HOT, it's the Bounce but with advertisements that just say that they aren't the bounce because when you turn it on you're like, "is this the fucking bounce?" And it just makes it clear it's not. On to our next contestant or should I say family affair, all those classic rock stations. Which should all change their names to Nickelback radio. Why? Because every second song they play is Nickelback. It's, "Alright, that was AC DC now let's hear some Nickelback, followed by some Nickelback, and just requested, more Nickelback!" It's rough. Terribly rough. Moving right along onto all the obscure little stations like Shine FM, Magic, CBC Radio One, CISN Country. Just get off the radio. Please. I guess, through all these shitty stations there is one glimmer of hope. Sonic 102.9. They play some great music but it never really seems like it's different. They stick too much to the same songs when they should just explore more music.
Edmonton needs a good indie radio station.
I demand it.Man, feels good to vent.
Sincerely and Sinisterly,
Johnathon "Artgasm" Lovett
ps. Shouldn't they just cancel AM radio? Like, who really listens to AM radio?
